Where it came from
Found in a crater.
French chemist Henri Moissan pulled tiny crystals from a meteorite that had struck Arizona thousands of years earlier. He was certain he had found diamond. He had not — he had found a new mineral, silicon carbide, later named moissanite in his honour.
How it is made
Grown, not mined.
Natural moissanite is almost nonexistent, so every stone we set is created in a lab. Same mineral, same optics, no mine. Each one is graded D colour, VVS1 clarity and excellent cut before it becomes a Moissa piece — we do not sell a lower tier.

At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it takes daily wear without complaint, and it throws more fire than the stone it keeps getting compared to. Which is the whole point — something you put on for a Tuesday, not something that lives in a safe.

All questionsWill anyone be able to tell it is not a diamond?
Not by looking, and not with the thermal tester most jewellers keep at the counter — moissanite reads as diamond on it, because the two conduct heat almost identically. The only reliable way is a dual thermal/electrical meter, or a gemologist checking specifically for moissanite under 10x magnification.
How long does shipping take?
Orders leave within 2 business days and arrive in 3–10 business days. Shipping is free everywhere, with no minimum, and duties are calculated at checkout so nothing is owed on delivery.

What are the settings made from?
18k gold vermeil — a thick layer of real gold over sterling silver — or rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver. The metal is listed on every product page. Both are nickel-free.
Keep them away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and cleaning products, and store pieces separately to prevent scratching. Plating wears with time; that is normal for plated jewellery and not a defect.
What if the ring does not fit?
Send it back within 30 days and we will exchange it for the right size — unworn and in its original packaging. If you are between sizes, size up: a slightly loose ring is a quick fix at any jeweller, a tight one is not.

What is your return policy?
30 days, unworn, in the original packaging, with free return shipping within the US. On top of that, every gemstone carries a lifetime warranty against clouding, dulling or loss of fire under normal wear.
