Why we exist
The jewellery you love is the jewellery you are afraid to wear.
Moissa exists because of a simple mismatch. Too precious for a Tuesday. Too expensive to lose. So it sits in a drawer.
We build around a stone that removes that problem — and we are specific about what it is.
Where it came from
Found in a crater.
French chemist Henri Moissan pulled tiny crystals from a meteorite that had struck Arizona thousands of years earlier. He was certain he had found diamond. He had not — he had found a new mineral, silicon carbide, later named moissanite in his honour.
How it is made
Grown, not mined.
Natural moissanite is almost nonexistent, so every stone we set is created in a lab. Same mineral, same optics, no mine. Each one is graded D colour, VVS1 clarity and excellent cut before it becomes a Moissa piece — we do not sell a lower tier.
What it is for
Not saved for occasions.
At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it takes daily wear without complaint, and it throws more fire than the stone it keeps getting compared to. Which is the whole point — something you put on for a Tuesday, not something that lives in a safe.
What we hold to
Three rules we do not bend.
We say the number.
Not “premium quality”. D colour, VVS1 clarity, excellent cut, 9.25 Mohs, 2.65 refractive index. If a claim cannot be measured, we do not make it.
We name the stone.
Every listing says moissanite in the title. We are not selling a diamond you got away with — we are selling a stone that outperforms it on fire and costs a fraction.
We design for Tuesday.
